LJS tournament Report - 17.11.22

Match 1

The first match was against Holly Hill we beat them 3 nil. The matches were 8 minutes long. The match was quite easy and it was a great and comfortable win just to start us off.

Match 2

On the second match, we played against Jacksdale Primary school and we drew against them 1-1. It was a tough game, but we held it. Also Jacksdale is Mr Barber’s new school. He really wanted us to lose.

Match 3

The third match was against Spring Bank primary school. We smashed them 2 nil. The players that scored was Harry Flack and Ayyan Muhammad. The match was very easy and we won the match well.

Match 4

The last group game was against Greasley Beauvale. This match was the hardest of all of our group games. Harry Flack had a screamer of a goal from a throw in and volleyed it over the keeper. Our whole team was delighted that we beat Greasley.

Match 5-round robin

We played in a little group game against Kimberley Primary and Holywell but we played Kimberley Primary first and won 2-1.  Ayyan Muhammad scored a tap in goal so did Harry Flack. The opponent (Kimberley primary) scored a lucky goal to make it 2-1.

The final

The final was against Hollywell. This match was the most important of all. We played very well and we did some great football and our passing was deadly. Hollywell did play very well but they just couldn’t get a goal past Jovan and the defenders. They just got a tap in goal. Our team were so happy when we heard that final whistle.

Some of our Year 5 children enjoy a good old game of Chess and wrote a letter to Mrs Scott to ask if they could create a lunch time club for Year 5's & 6's.  Mrs Scott agreed for the club to take place and they're going to work our times and dates!  A big thank you to the grandparent of the child who very kindly donated chess equipment to make this possible.

We're also super proud of George and Lewis for taking initiative and sharing their joy of chess with other children.

Year 6 & Hall Benches

Our Year 6's did not feel the new bench seating system for the school hall was fair and so three representatives (Amelia, Annie and Logan) from Year 6 wrote Mrs Scott a letter explaining their reasons and petitioned for it to be changed. Mrs Scott had changed it to make it more fair for all Year groups but has compromised and given the Year 6's the benches for every Achievers Assembly on Fridays.

Well done girls, Year 6 will appreciate the seatings on Fridays!
