Welcome to Larkfields Junior School

 

At Team Larkfields, we aim to foster in each child a lifelong love of learning.  We believe it is our responsibility to provide an environment of mutual respect and tolerance in which children not only feel secure, but enjoy themselves.  Our goal is to enable them to achieve their very best in everything they do.  We strive for our children to be confident global citizens who are prepared for the 21st century.

The school takes great pride in the possibilities we provide for our children, not only the high expectations academically, but the wide range of other opportunities we give to ensure our children can be the very best version of themselves.  The 6 key drivers we promote in school are crucial to this.

Larkfields Newsletter

Every half term we send out a school newsletter highlighting events that have happened in school recently, celebrating our children's successes and also to give information on any upcoming local events.

What's happening in school?
Year 2 Transition Afternoons

Year 2 Transition Afternoons

We've set up some transition afternoons to help welcome our upcoming Year 2 children. These will run on the following dates: 

Wednesday 7th June 1:30-2:30pm (Tour of the school with their year 5 buddy)

Wednesday 14th June 1:30-2:30pm (Activities with their year 5 buddy)

Tuesday 20th June 1:30-3:25pm (All afternoon with their new teachers)

Wednresday 28th June 1:30-3:25pm (All afternoon with their new teachers)

If your child is not at the Infants school but you would like to arrange a visit, please contact our office. 

Sports Day

Sports Day

We are running two Sports Days this year on the following dates: 

Year 5 and 6 on Monday 22nd May

Year 3 and 4 on Tuesday 23rd May

Children will need to wear either a red, blue, green or yellow shirt depending on which team they are in. If you are unsure, please contact their class teacher. 

As always, parents are welcome to join us, it starts at 1:30pm and will run until the end of the day. Please enter through the side gate.

Well done Year 6, SATs are now over!  We know many of you were very anxious but we're very proud of the effort all of you have put in this week and we hope you enjoyed your Friday Disco!

Year 4 had a very interesting week learning all about Eid and celebrating it with some traditional music and a feast.

Coronation Picnic

We had a fantastic day on Friday 5th May (despite the weather!) It was lovely to see so many parents and relatives join us for an indoor picnic and we can't wait for our next big joint event; the Larkfest!

Place2Be will be having free online parent courses starting from Tuesday 6th June. Parents who are interested must register by Monday 22nd May. Please see the attached leaflet for further information.
