Welcome to Larkfields Junior School

At Team Larkfields, we aim to foster in each child a lifelong love of learning.  We believe it is our responsibility to provide an environment of mutual respect and tolerance in which children not only feel secure, but enjoy themselves.  Our goal is to enable them to achieve their very best in everything they do.  We strive for our children to be confident global citizens who are prepared for the 21st century.

The school takes great pride in the possibilities we provide for our children, not only the high expectations academically, but the wide range of other opportunities we give to ensure our children can be the very best version of themselves.  The 6 key drivers we promote in school are crucial to this.

For the Spring Term we will be focusing on the drivers:

Year 6 - SATs Cafe

To help prepare our Year 6 children for their SATs in May, our teachers have started a SATs Cafe after school club, running every Tuesday from 3:30pm until 4:30pm.

The children will have the opportunity to engage with a range of different activities in an informal environment, supported by us as a teaching team.

If your child would like to attend, please complete the online Weduc form.

Year 5 - First Aid Lesson

The Notts County Council Swimming Team paid our Year 5 children a visit in February to teach them all about CPR and first aid.  The children had a chance to perform CPR on the special first aid manikins and practised the recovery position on each other (and on some of our lovely teacher volunteers!)

The children really enjoyed the session and learned some valuable life skills. A big thank you to the Swimming Team, they were very helpful, kind and knowledgable!

There are tons of resources online for teaching first aid to children, some essential tips can be found on the following websites:

Amazing Artwork - Africa

The Enhanced Provision have been busy making a classroom display all about Africa. They’ve made some lovely paintings and drawings of all the animals you can find (with some inspiration from The Lion King!)  They also helped Mrs Deacon make an African Savanna mural on the classroom doors, our favourite bit is the very tall Giraffes!
